YVHS Cell Phone Policy

http://awurl.com/lZce6jVZW

I found this AUP from a high school in California. It was short and not detailed and there was plenty of room for interpretation. The only thing that was really strong said "Cell phones are not to be visible at any time during the school day, including lunch and brunch". It wasn't entirely clear what would happen if the cell phone rang or was seen and how to get it back if it was picked up. This policy needs to state whether or not camera phones are allowed.
The only thing I really liked about this policy is that it tells you exactly what the consequences are for violating this policy. The first time it is taken up the student ca get it back at the end of the day. The second and third time it is taken up, the parents get involved. The fourth and fifth time the student receives consequences from the school and it doesn't say whether or ot the student gets their cell phone back. It isn't clear what happens after the sixth violation but it looks like not so great things for that student.
This has nothing really to do with the content of the policy, but there are several grammar and spelling mistakes in this policy and so it comes across as a lot less professional as it should.
